照明技師 / ライティングディレクター / ガッファー


キャリアのスタートはドラマ『silent』の照明監督・太田宏幸氏のもと、光と影の微細なニュアンスや映像との融合を学んだことに始まる。そこで培った光の質感や陰影、感情に訴えかける照明技法は現在の活動の大きな基盤となっている。

照明卓オペレーターとして活動していた時期には、クリストファー・ノーラン作品の撮影監督ホイテ・ヴァン・ホイテマとのCM撮影に携わり、世界基準のシネマトグラフィライティングに触れる経験を得た。

その後、野田真基氏や永井左紋氏といった一流の照明技師の現場でチーフを務め、照明演出だけでなく現場進行を支えるディレクション力とリーダーシップを養った。

また2023年独立以前から10年以上にわたり大型フェスや奈良県東大寺といった歴史的建造物のライトアップも手がけており、観客体験に新しい光の表現をもたらし続けている。


猫が好き。飼ってる猫は雑種の5歳。

Sudo Kenshi – Lighting Director / Gaffer



A Tokyo-based lighting director and gaffer who brings life to images and spaces through the expressive power of light.

His career began under lighting director Hiroyuki Ota on the acclaimed TV drama silent, where he learned the delicate nuances of light and shadow and how they merge with the visual narrative. The sensibilities and techniques he developed there—especially in the texture of light and emotional lighting—form the foundation of his current work.

During his time as a lighting console operator, he worked on a commercial project with Hoyte van Hoytema—known as Christopher Nolan’s cinematographer—where he was exposed to the standards of global cinematography. This experience broadened his perspective and continues to inform his creative approach.

He later served as chief lighting technician under top professionals such as Masaki Noda and Samon Nagai, gaining not only expertise in lighting direction but also leadership and the ability to coordinate complex productions with precision.

For more than a decade, even before his independence in 2023, he has also directed lighting for major festivals and historic site illuminations, continually bringing new dimensions of light to audience experiences.

I like cats. I live with a 5-year-old mixed-breed cat.
